Worlds (apart)

It's goodbye, but we've got one more night.
They trip over their own feet, laugh as they hold hands (hearts) and wander the streets aimlessly.
They spend the day chasing after the elusive eternity (forever, happy-ever-after), and then they stop on the cobbled steps and watch it bleed away into the horizon.
Soon, he says.
They end up with their toes buried in sand (time), (his) head to (her) head and painting another world.
When the time comes (to break a dream), he erases the tears shimmering on her face with a finger and a smile.
The sky shines brilliantly, but nothing can beat the way she glows (supernova).
Even if we are swallowed by the darkness, you will always be my sunshine.
He vanishes back into his own world, and she leaves the world she never was supposed to have been in.
